A cookie is a small text file that a website stores in your browser. On your next visit the site reads it and knows, for example, that you have already dismissed the consent bar or which language you selected. On lionstravel.sk we use cookies to the extent described below.

Strictly necessary cookies

The site would not work without these files, so we store them without consent on the basis of legitimate interest. They include the session identifier that keeps the contents of the booking form while you fill it in, a cookie holding your language setting (SK or EN), and a cookie recording the choice you made in the consent bar. They are kept for a maximum of 12 months; the session cookie disappears when you close the browser.

Analytics cookies

We use Google Analytics 4, which shows us how many people visited the site, which tours they looked at and at which step of the booking they left. We follow this so we know which destinations to add to the offer. IP anonymisation is switched on. Analytics cookies are stored only if you allow them in the consent bar. Their lifetime is 14 months.

Marketing cookies

If you allow them, the Meta Pixel is stored, which lets us show an advert for a tour to people who viewed it on our site. We do not use it for profiling beyond that purpose and we do not sell the data. These cookies last 90 days. If you refuse them, you may still see our adverts, they simply will not reflect what you looked at.

Third-party cookies

Our gallery page embeds a video from YouTube. Google’s player sets its own cookies only once you click play. The map showing our office location is rendered via OpenStreetMap, which sets no cookies.

The files we store

• lt_session – strictly necessary, keeps a booking form in progress, expires when the browser closes.
• lt_lang – strictly necessary, stores the chosen language, SK or EN, expires after 12 months.
• lt_consent – strictly necessary, remembers your choice in the consent bar, expires after 12 months.
• _ga, _ga_* – analytics, Google Analytics 4, expires after 14 months.
• _fbp – marketing, Meta Pixel, expires after 90 days.

How to change or withdraw consent

You can change your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the site footer. You can also delete or block cookies directly in your browser: in Chrome under Settings – Privacy and security, in Firefox under Settings – Privacy & Security, in Safari under Preferences – Privacy. If you block all cookies, including the strictly necessary ones, the booking form may not work correctly.

Consent is not a condition of booking a tour. If you refuse analytics and marketing cookies, the booking form and the full tour catalogue will work for you exactly as they do for anyone else; we will simply know less about what you were looking for on the site.
