Booking

Fill in the form on the site or call +421 918 473 422. We email you the travel contract within 24 hours. You can sign it electronically or in person at our office at Štúrova 37 in Turzovka. The booking becomes firm once the 30 % deposit reaches our account, which you have seven days to pay. We hold your place until then.

A maximum of 16 people, and usually 12 to 14 on long-haul tours such as Jordan or Vietnam. Coach trips to Croatia are the exception and can carry up to 45, but the guided group is still split. We need at least 8 people to run a tour. If we do not reach that, we tell you at least 21 days before departure and refund everything.

Payment

The deposit is 30 % of the tour price and is due within seven days of signing the contract. The balance, the remaining 70 %, must be paid no later than 30 days before departure. If you book less than 30 days before departure, the full amount is due at once. We invoice by email and take payment by bank transfer; we do not accept cards yet.

The price covers transport, accommodation, a Slovak guide, breakfasts and the entrance fees listed in the itinerary. It does not cover lunches and dinners (except in Iceland and Jordan, where we include them), travel insurance, drinks or optional excursions. Budget 30 to 40 euros a day for personal spending in Croatia and Italy, and 60 to 80 in Iceland and Norway.

Children under 12 sharing a room with an extra bed get 20 % off. Children under 3 without their own seat or bed pay 50 euros to cover fees and insurance. Booking six or more people at once earns 5 % off the total. Repeat clients who have travelled with us at least three times keep a permanent 5 %. Discounts stack to a maximum of 20 %.

Insurance

It is not compulsory, but we will not take you to Iceland, Jordan, Morocco or Vietnam without it. We offer comprehensive cover through Union: medical costs up to 250,000 euros, cancellation cover up to 80 % of the tour price, baggage and liability. It costs 2.50 euros per person per day in Europe and 4 euros outside Europe, and is arranged when you sign the contract.

Cancellation cover reimburses 80 % of the cancellation fee if you pull out because of illness, injury, the hospitalisation of a close relative or a death in the family. You need a doctor's certificate within three days of the event. It does not cover chronic conditions diagnosed before the policy was taken out, an uncomplicated pregnancy, or simply changing your mind. Standard cancellation terms apply then.

Cancellation

More than 60 days before departure you pay 15 % of the price; 59 to 30 days, 40 %; 29 to 15 days, 60 %; 14 to 7 days, 80 %; and under 7 days, 100 %. If you find someone to take your place we transfer the contract for a 25 euro admin fee and you pay no cancellation charge. Cancellations must be sent in writing to info@lionstravel.sk.

If we do not reach the minimum of 8 people, we tell you at least 21 days before departure and refund everything you have paid within 14 days. If we cancel because of force majeure — war, natural disaster, closed borders — you also get a full refund. We will offer an alternative date or another tour in the same price bracket, but the choice is yours.

On the road

Within the EU a valid ID card is enough. For Morocco, Jordan and Vietnam you need a passport valid for six months beyond your return date. Morocco requires no visa for Slovak citizens. For Jordan the visa is handled through the Jordan Pass, which you buy online before you fly. Vietnam has a 25-dollar e-visa; we arrange it for you if you send a passport scan 30 days ahead.

On coach tours: one suitcase up to 20 kg and a cabin bag up to 5 kg. There is plenty of hold space, but past 20 kg the driver in Croatia starts complaining. On flight-based tours the airline limits apply, usually 23 kg checked and 8 kg cabin. For Iceland and Norway we suggest leaving the suitcase at home and bringing a rucksack, since we travel by minibus.

Yes, but tell us at least 21 days before departure so we can pass it on to the hotels. Vegetarian and gluten-free are straightforward in Europe. In Morocco and Vietnam gluten-free is harder — soy sauce and many soups contain it, and the guide will flag dishes on the spot. Always declare nut allergies; nuts turn up in a lot of Asian cooking as standard.
