Terms and conditions
Last updated: 15 January 2026
These terms and conditions govern the relationship between the travel agency LionsTravel s.r.o., Štúrova 37, 023 54 Turzovka, Slovakia, Company ID 46 285 913 (the "Agency"), and the customer. They form an inseparable part of the travel contract concluded under Slovak Act No. 170/2018 Coll. on package travel, linked travel arrangements and certain conditions of business in tourism.
1. Formation of the contract
The contractual relationship arises when both parties sign the travel contract, including electronically. A reservation made online or by phone is non-binding and the Agency holds it for a maximum of 5 calendar days. By signing, the customer confirms that they are authorised to act on behalf of all other registered participants and that they have passed on the tour information, including these terms.
2. Price and payment
The tour price is quoted in euros and covers transport, accommodation, guide services and the entry fees expressly listed in the programme. It does not cover travel insurance, optional excursions or meals not listed in the programme.
- A deposit of 30% of the total price is due within 5 days of signing the contract.
- The balance of 70% is due no later than 30 days before the departure date, without further reminder.
- If the contract is concluded less than 30 days before departure, the full price is due at once, within 3 days of signing.
- If the customer fails to pay the balance on time, the Agency will issue a written notice with an additional 5-day period. If it expires without payment, the Agency may withdraw from the contract and charge cancellation fees under Article 4.
3. Price changes
The Agency may unilaterally increase the tour price no later than 21 days before departure, and only because of an increase in fuel prices, airport and port charges, or a change in the exchange rate of more than 5%. Any increase must be justified and supported by a calculation. If the increase exceeds 8% of the total price, the customer may withdraw from the contract without a cancellation fee within 5 days of receiving the notice.
4. Cancellation by the customer and cancellation fees
The customer may withdraw from the contract at any time before the start of the tour by written notice delivered to the Agency’s office or by e-mail to rezervacie@lionstravel.sk. The date of delivery of the notice is decisive. Cancellation fees, calculated from the total tour price, are:
- more than 60 days before departure: EUR 40 per person as an administrative fee,
- 60 to 31 days before departure: 30% of the tour price,
- 30 to 15 days before departure: 50% of the tour price,
- 14 to 7 days before departure: 80% of the tour price,
- 6 days or less before departure, or failure to join the tour: 100% of the tour price.
Instead of withdrawing, the customer may transfer the contract to another person who meets the conditions of participation. Notice must be delivered no later than 7 days before departure. The Agency charges EUR 25 for the change, plus any actual costs charged by the carrier or the accommodation provider.
5. Cancellation by the Agency
The Agency may cancel a tour if the minimum of 8 participants is not reached. In that case it will give notice no later than 21 days before departure and refund the full amount paid within 14 days, with no further compensation due. The Agency may also cancel a tour because of unavoidable and extraordinary circumstances beyond its control, such as armed conflict, a natural disaster or an official travel ban. The full amount paid is likewise refunded within 14 days.
6. Customer obligations
The customer must hold a valid travel document as required by the destination country, arrive at the departure point at the stated time and follow the guide’s instructions. In the event of a serious breach of the programme, repeated lateness or behaviour endangering other participants, the guide may exclude the customer from the tour with no right to a refund; the customer then bears the cost of their own return home.
7. Insurance
In accordance with Act No. 170/2018 Coll., the Agency holds insolvency insurance with Union, a. s. The certificate of insurance is supplied together with the travel contract. Should the Agency become unable to deliver the tour due to insolvency, the insurer arranges repatriation and refunds payments made. Medical travel insurance is not included in the tour price; the Agency arranges it on request and recommends taking it out.
8. Complaints
If the services do not match the contract, the customer must raise the defect immediately on site with the guide so that it can be remedied during the tour. The guide will record it in writing. A complaint may be lodged in writing or by e-mail within 2 years of the end of the tour. The Agency will settle it within 30 days of receipt. Where a complaint is justified, the Agency will grant a price reduction proportionate to the extent and duration of the defect.
9. Final provisions
Matters not governed by these terms are subject to Act No. 170/2018 Coll. and the Slovak Civil Code. The parties will seek to settle any dispute by agreement; the customer may also turn to the Slovak Trade Inspection or use the online dispute resolution platform. These terms take effect on 15 January 2026 and apply to contracts concluded after that date.
